About the Artist

Yahaya Dangana is a Nigerian playwright, theatre director, and cultural consultant based in Minna, Niger State. He is known for his work in drama and for directing large-scale artistic performances at major national events. He was the pioneer chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Niger State chapter, and later served as its trustee. He played a central role in inaugurating ANA in the state and in attracting major literary events to Niger State. He is also widely known for his support of young writers and his strong connections with writers across Nigeria. As a writer, Dangana authored novels such as 'Corpse as a Bridegroom' and 'Blow of Fate,' as well as the award-winning play 'The Royal Chamber.' His early work focused on written drama and fiction before he moved more fully into theatre production and artistic direction. Dangana later became prominent as an artistic consultant and director for major national and international events. He worked on the National Sports Festival in Kaduna, served as Artistic Consultant/Director for the FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria, and contributed to productions at the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST). His career bridges literature and performance. He moves between writing plays and translating ideas into large, coordinated stage productions that require precision and collaboration. Despite working on major national platforms, he is known for his modesty and steady commitment to artistic growth. Yahaya Dangana's work has helped shape Niger State's literary and performance culture.
